Freeze Soups and Sauces in Small Serving Sizes
This is one of my favorite tricks. I started using it when I was making big pots of soup as a Christmas gift for my mother. She was legally blind, but still had enough vision and the determination to live alone. We all decided, her included, that the stove was off limits when no one was there, but she had a trust microwave.

At first I made big batches of soup and froze them in pint plastic bags, but then I saw how convenient soup cubes would be. I started freezing the soup in ice cube trays then transferring them to plastic bags. She could take as many cubes out as she wanted and microwave them for supper. I now freeze leftover sauces in cubes, too.
