DIY Inexpensive Homemade Cream Soap

Homemade-soap-recipe

One of the products that I use on a daily basis and absolutely love is cream soap, which has all the advantages of regular soap while being smooth, easy to apply and…. well, creamy.

Sometimes I’m quite the perfectionist, and in my endless search for the ultimate cream soap, I stumbled upon a few products that came very close to meeting my expectations.

While I still try to find the best commercial product money can buy, I am now using a homemade cream soap that costs only a fraction of what you find in stores, and I’m delighted to share it with you now.

The obvious upside is the lack of any chemicals and potentially harmful substances because the only ingredients that find their way into the mix are the ones you decide to mix.

You will certainly need a bar of soap, vegetable shortening and a few cups of water, as well as glycerin but it is entirely up to you to add coconut oil or a few drops of essential oils.

I endorse both of them, and the beauty of choosing your essential oil for scenting is what motivated me to give this do-it-yourself recipe a try.

Cream Soap Recipe:

1 bar soap
4-6 cups water
1 tsp. Glycerin
2 cups vegetable shortening
1 cup coconut oil
10-15 drops essential oils (optional)
