Turn your Hair into a Great Gatsby Faux Bob without Cutting it

I love some of the romantic cuts of the 1920s. The soft finger curls were dazzling on stars like Marlene Dietrich, Carole Lombard and Greta Garbo. I don’t think of those stars or their hairstyles every day, but watching The Great Gatsby again reminded me of how much I really liked the look. Changing long hair into short hair, necessary for those bobs from the 20s, is easy. All you need is scissors and determination. However, cutting my hair wasn’t an option, so instead, I scanned the internet for some ideas.

YouTube to the rescue, as usual. I found this great video that shows how you can change long hair and make it look short without ever touching the scissors or snipping an inch. Her step-by-step instructions make it super easy to get that same “come hither” sexy yet demure appearance that the stars of the silver screen had in the 1920s. While I might wear it for a special occasion, just to change things up a bit, I know it’s going to be a big hit at the next costume party when I come dressed as Zelda and dress my hubby as F. Scott Fitzgerald.
