Cleaning oven racks can be difficult and the fumes from the oven cleaners can even make it hard to breathe. There are some very easy methods in cleaning those dirty oven racks without all the mess.
Option #1 – Using Dryer sheets
- Place your oven racks in the tub with hot water and add a few dryer sheets (you can add few drops of dishwashing liquid but this is optional)
- Let them soak for at least 1-2 hours and simply wipe the grime away.
- Some light scrubbing will be needed for more stubborn grease.
Apparently, the anti-static agents in the dryer sheets weaken the bond between the food and the pan while the fabric softening agents soften the baked-on food.
