Natural Hair Remover: How to Make Sugar Wax & Live Demonstration!

Permanent hair removal – the ultimate goal for so many ladies! Most of us know the agony of choosing a technique like waxing, only to see hairs reappear a few weeks later.

The market offers dozens of “long-lasting” possibilities but most of these are based on harsh chemicals, or they’re ineffective.

What is Sugaring Wax

Using sugar for waxing purposes is an old-school technique known for the excellent results that it delivers. The benefits of sugaring are numerous – it’s cheap, it can be used on any body part, and it is 100 percent chemical free.

Sugaring wax is made from a combination of lemon, sugar, and water melted through heating to form a liquified gel that is stretchy and is used to pull hair out of the roots. It is very much less painful and lasts longer than traditional hot waxing.

Is
Better than Waxing?

One thing I like about the sugaring trick, it doesn’t adhere to the skin but only binds to your hair, hence it truly gets the hair out of the roots.

The sugaring paste acts as a gentle conditioner to the skin and is less likely to result in irritation therefore, it is perfect for those with sensitive skin and peach fuzz.

Note Pre-Sugaring: Your hair must be at least a quarter of an inch long to be a better candidate for sugaring wax, so the paste will stick to the hair and pull out the roots. Also, before doing the process, make the affected area well exfoliated and not oily.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 tbsp of water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2-3 tsp of lemon juice

Directions:

① In low heat, mix all the ingredients together and let it simmer. Slow, stir continuously until the mixture turns to a light amber color.
② Once the mixture change its color, turn off the heat and pour the sugar waxing on a cool marble countertop (or you can use a baking sheet or even a plate). Just make sure to lightly wet the surface with water before pouring the mixture.

③ Wet your hands when trying to pick up the sugar ball. The mixture is still hot, so be extra careful. Continue kneading the sugar mixture until it will turn to yellow and it is ready to use.

You can cut it in half and wrap the other half with a cling wrap and store in the fridge for future use.

④ Wipe dry the affected area first before applying the sugar wax to the opposite direction of hair growth. Smooth over to the area couple of times to ensure that the sugar would adhere to the hair, then pull it off as quick as you can.

After the process, you can just wash off the area with warm damp towel and if possible, apply aloe vera gel to soothe your skin.

Post
Tips

Post Sugaring: It is recommended to stay away from hot water or sauna within 48 hours period if possible. Your skin is sensitive after the waxing, so treat it nicely. After that period, you can try exfoliating your skin to prevent ingrown hairs.

” Consider a tree for a moment. As beautiful as trees are to look at, we don’t see what goes on underground – as they grow roots. Trees must develop deep roots in order to grow strong and produce their beauty. But we don’t see the roots. We just see and enjoy the beauty. In much the same way, what goes on inside of us is like the roots of a tree. ”
