The Secret to Brighter Blonde Hair Without Brassy Tones: Lemons, Potatoes, & Tea

blonde-hair-1

I remember back in high school when my mother absolutely forbid me to lighten my hair. Everyone had blond streaks or highlights in their hair but me. I decided to take matters into my own hands and rather than use peroxide or a chemical lightener just applied lemon juice to some strands right before we went outside in gym class. I didn’t even use a fresh lemon but had one of those lemon shaped containers that filled with the juice. It worked well and by the end of the class, the strands were noticeably lighter. As Ricky Ricardo from “I Love Lucy” might have said, “I had some splaining to do” when I got home.

This video show you how to have even more success without the help of the sun. You do use lemon juice, but you also use two other ingredients that most people have at home, chamomile tea and potatoes. Okay, maybe I just have chamomile tea on my shelf, but you should too. I use it to help clear acne and drink it to help me sleep or when anyone in the house has an upset stomach.
