2 Minutes French Toast in a Mug

I absolutely love the idea of making some of my favorite dishes right in the mixing bowl, or should I say mug in this case. When I found this video on YouTube I was already hungry. I’d missed breakfast to get extra work done and it was approaching noon, so you can imagine how my mouth watered at the thought of French toast in a mug. Seriously, French toast in a skillet sounded good too, but if I didn’t have to dirty all those dishes, what the heck! Let me take the easiest way that uses far fewer dishes and only takes minutes. I knew I just had to try it and boy am I glad I did. It hit the spot.

Even though most people love chocolate and I have my moments when I cherish it beyond belief, when I made my version, I didn’t have chocolate chips, but did have something that sounded like it would taste super good adding it to this treat, pecans. I definitely wasn’t wrong, but then, pecans go with just about any food. Okay, a bit of an over-exaggeration, but true in many cases. OH MY! DELICIOUS! In fact, I made a second batch and sprinkled a little extra sugar in it. Super good too. Watch this video from Pinterest and you’ll see how you can have a satisfying meal or snack in just two minutes.

This recipe is so simple, you can make it every morning, even if you’re busy, because it only takes 2 minutes.

What you need:

  • 1-2 slices of bread
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup ( or you can use sugar instead)
  • A dash of cinnamon
  • chocolate chips (Optional)
  • butter for greasing the mug
