DIY Makeup Brush Cleaner

One task I always forget to do is a thorough cleaning of my makeup brushes. When I saw this video, I decide it was time to start. I actually bought the almond oil for this since I now have brush cleaning as part of my weekly cleaning regimen. It was just something that I hadn’t thought about and normally only rinsed them in alcohol and then in hot water and dried them.

Periodically, I’d swish the brush in dish cleaning solution and rinse, but it seemed to take its toll on the brushes. This keeps them soft and supple and gets them just bought clean.

One thing I loved about this video is the way she hung the brush to dry. It was absolute genius and allowed the air to circulate through all the bristles. I do several brushes at once and then pitch the remainder. I now am considering putting a thin rack up in the shower to hang all my brushes, since I’m now deep cleaning them on a regular basis.

you’ll need:
