Alzheimer’s is a type of dementia that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior. Symptoms usually develop slowly and get worse over time, becoming severe enough to interfere with daily tasks.
Alzheimer’s disease usually is not diagnosed in the early stages, even in people who visit their primary care doctors with memory complaints. Recognizing symptoms early is crucial because medication to control symptoms is most effective in the early stages of the disease and early diagnosis allows the individual and his or her family members to plan for the future.
Researchers at UF Health have discovered a fast, easy and amazingly cheap way of detecting Alzheimers early. Quite frankly, it’s so easy, you can do it at home.
