How to Make Your Holiday Ham in Your Slow Cooker

I don’t know about you guys, but when the holiday celebration begins, my oven is crammed with delectable dishes for dinner. In fact, the oven is so packed, I often have to add extra time to all the dishes or bake them separately, which isn’t an option for me. I found this solution and it works perfectly, not only freeing up more space in the oven but also creating a delicious, fantastic ham that my family absolutely loved. The solution is to use my slow cooker for the ham, freeing up a huge amount of space in my oven for those wonderful sides and desserts.

Not only does the solution free up space, I think you’ll fall in love with the flavor of the glaze, combined with the juice in the bottom. In this video, Monte Mathews uses brown sugar and peach jam for the glaze, but you can use any type of jam you want. For the liquid necessary for a slow cooker, he used orange juice. I tried the recipe that he had in the video and loved the results.

Next time, however, I’m going to get more creative, maybe using apple juice and a different type of jam. One family member used the recipe and added water for the liquid, she said it was delicious.
